Job Title: Senior Road Safety Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Road Safety Expert to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of road safety strategies across Odisha.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating road safety strategies to reduce the number of road accidents and fatalities in Odisha. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement State Road Safety Policy and Action Plan.
  • Advise on alignment with national road safety frameworks and Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Develop guidelines and standards for safe road infrastructure, signage, and traffic management.
  • Evaluate design and safety aspects of new and existing road projects.
  • Recommend countermeasures for high-risk areas and conduct road safety audits.
  • Analyze crash data and maintain a road safety database.
  • Design and deliver capacity building workshops and awareness campaigns.
  • Work with government agencies and local NGOs to enhance roadway safety.
  • Represent the state at national road safety forums and stakeholder consultations.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Transportation Planning/Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mobility and/or road safety in India.
  • Strong understanding of Indian policies, laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Auto Cad, GIS, and data analysis tools.
  • Fluency in Hindi and English; Odiya is preferable.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Expertise in road infrastructure design, traffic engineering, and safety audit methodologies.
  • Proficiency in analyzing accident/casualty data and preparing technical reports.
  • Leadership and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
