Lead Physiotherapy Academic Director

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our Physiotherapy College, ensuring academic excellence and fostering a culture of innovation.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to the Physiotherapy College, driving teaching, research, and professional development while upholding institutional and statutory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement academic programs aligning with University, UGC, and statutory council norms.
    • Oversee curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and continuous assessment.
    • Foster research, publications, and participation in academic forums among faculty.
    • Ensure effective clinical training and integration with healthcare services.
  • Administrative & Managerial:
    • Supervise day-to-day administration of the Physiotherapy College/Department.
    • Evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements (UGC, State Council, University guidelines).
    • Mentor, recruit, and evaluate faculty and staff performance.
    • Prepare budgets, manage resources, and ensure infrastructure adequacy.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to accreditation standards (NABH, NAAC, etc.).
    • Implement proper records management for academic, clinical, and administrative activities.
    • Facilitate audits, inspections, and approvals from governing bodies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Nurture partnerships with healthcare institutions, universities, and professional organizations.
    • Organize workshops, conferences, and educational events to enhance learning exposure.
    • Cultivate relationships with parents, students, and alumni to strengthen institutional reputation.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Possess an MPT or Ph.D. in Physiotherapy (specialization desirable in Orthopedics, Neurology, or Cardio-respiratory).
  • Experience:
    • Demonstrate at least 15 years of teaching/clinical experience, including 5 years in a Professor/Head role.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Show expertise in physiotherapy education, pedagogy, and healthcare trends.
    • Display ability to balance academics, clinical, and administrative responsibilities.
    • Have a research-oriented mindset with publications in reputable journals.
