Job Description

Mica, a crucial resource with 34 types of minerals, is used globally due to its optical properties and insulation capabilities. It has various applications, including cosmetics, automotive coatings, and electronics.

India is the largest exporter of mica, mostly mined in Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh. The Responsible Mica Initiative (RMI) works to establish a fair, responsible, and sustainable mica supply chain in India and Madagascar.

Position: Workplace Standard Auditor & Trainer

The successful candidate will be based in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, and will work closely with RMI's governance bodies, Executive team, members, and partners to support RMI's growth in India.

Missions & Responsibilities

  • Establish gap assessments of India mica processors and mines versus RMI's Global Workplace Standard (GWS) and the forthcoming RMI mining standard.
  • Support processors and mine owners in implementing corrective action plans and follow-up on progress.
  • Coordinate collective third-party audit protocol for RMI members.
  • Liaise with RMI accredited external auditing companies.
  • Develop training content for auditors on RMI standards and conduct online or face-to-face training sessions.

District Level Advocacy in Rajasthan

The Workplace Standard Auditor & Trainer will build and maintain a network with local district governmental officers/authorities and update them regularly with RMI's progress, planned activities, and challenges.
