About This Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Expert to lead our legal department in South Asia. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert legal counsel and support to various stakeholders across the organization.

  • Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Legal Support:

  • Offer timely and accurate legal advice on commercial matters, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, GTCs, NDAs, MOUs, and other related agreements.
  • Develop contract templates to adapt to local requirements.
  • Collaborate with insurance teams for claims and queries.
  • Inform stakeholders of legal and regulatory risks, providing solutions to mitigate those risks.

Compliance:

  • Serve as the compliance point of contact, ensuring implementation of Group compliance programs.
  • Assist in training business teams exposed to compliance risks.
  • Provide advice on compliance-related issues, with support from the Group Compliance team.

Dispute and Litigation Management:

  • Manage disputes, pre-litigation, and litigation matters, including arbitration.
  • Develop effective strategies to resolve legal issues, protect company interests, and address commercial claims.
  • Liaise with external counsel for outsourced legal matters, ensuring cost-effective and efficient representation.

Corporate Governance:

  • Oversight of corporate secretarial and compliance matters for legal entities in South Asia.
  • Management of corporate governance projects, including acquisitions, restructurings, and new entity establishment.
