Job Role: High-Voltage Systems Expert

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the successful execution and validation of vehicle components and sub-systems.

  • Packaging of high-voltage cables, busbars, and their layouts along with plastic carriers for HV & LV battery packs.
  • Update harness routing and busbar configurations in response to repackaging interface components, coordinated with system integration engineering teams.
  • Understand energy storage system (battery) sizing requirements for targeted vehicle performance.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to implement design changes during program development, prototype, and production build phases, aligned with project timelines.
  • Conduct stack-up analysis on designed components.
  • Develop harness, busbar, and cell packaging designs, identify issues, and drive resolution prior to validation builds.
  • Create test cases, design rules, or requirements as needed.
  • Participate in benchmarking and concept development activities.
  • Work on QAF, RFQ, and support plans in collaboration with suppliers, buyers, and VFM teams.
  • Manage DFMEA, PFMEA, BOD, and BOP documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with grade, EMC, and safety standards.
  • Design and develop interface plastics and sheet metal components for battery enclosures.
  • Support part development at in-house or supplier locations.
  • Participate in testing parts at supplier or in-house facilities, following DV or PV guidelines.
  • Engage in supplier PPAP activities and periodic audits to enhance quality and process efficiency.
  • Support build activities, create supply plans for M1/VB and production cars, and manage salesable vehicles.
  • Provide engineering solutions for build issues and contain/fix problems with current production vehicles.
  • Develop circuit schematics and validate circuits for full vehicle architecture.
  • Release 3D harness assembly models in PLM.
  • Experience various change management processes, including Engineering Change Requests.
  • Select harness coverings based on 3D model routing and packaging, considering surrounding geometry.
  • Identify and resolve harness packaging issues prior to validation builds.
