Audit Manager for Affordable Housing

This position is part of our Assurance team, supporting clients across the US from our Chennai office in a hybrid global delivery model. We are seeking an Audit Manager to lead and manage audit engagements in the Residential Real Estate sector, with a specialized focus on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and HUD compliance audits.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead audits for LIHTC and HUD-funded projects, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, HUD guidelines, and IRS Section 42 requirements.
  • Review and prepare financial statements, audit workpapers, and compliance reports in accordance with LIHTC regulations, IRS Section 42, and state housing finance agency requirements.
  • Drive client engagements and ensure timely delivery of audit deliverables.
  • Provide strategic guidance on compliance monitoring, risk mitigation, and internal control assessments for affordable housing entities.

Qualifications:

  • CPA or CA certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on affordable housing or LIHTC engagements.
  • In-depth knowledge of affordable housing regulations, HUD audit protocols, and LIHTC program sensitivities.
  • Experience with audit platforms such as CaseWare, CCH, and data analytics tools.
