Job Title: Chief Compliance Officer

Role Summary:

The Chief Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the Corporate Agent/Insurance Broker adheres to regulatory guidelines. This senior position demands an individual with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen understanding of IRDAI regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance Oversight: Supervise and monitor activities to ensure strict compliance with IRDAI guidelines, corporate agency regulations, and all other relevant laws.
  2. Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IRDAI regulations and ensure all employees are trained and skilled in insurance products.
  3. Applications and Submissions: File applications for removal or addition of specified persons and Authorized Verifiers, and submit material disclosures, regulatory returns, and other information to the Authority in a timely manner.
  4. Grievance Handling: Ensure customer grievances are addressed appropriately and resolved within 14 days.
  5. Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in any stream or (MBA or professional qualifications preferred – III, Actuaries, CII London, IIRM, ICAI, ICSI, CFA/CAIIB).
  • Training & Certification:

50 hours of training + passing the prescribed IRDAI exam (if not holding a professional qualification).

25 hours of training + exam for recognized professionals.

Certification valid for 3 years.

  • Must fulfill additional regulatory requirements such as minimum capital, deposits, professional indemnity insurance, infrastructure, staffing, and fit & proper declaration.
