Market Research Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Market Research Analyst to support our Import & Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in market research, deep insights into market trends, and the ability to analyze geo-political developments that impact financial and commodity markets.

The role will involve tracking market price movements, evaluating hedging strategies, and preparing detailed analytical reports to assist in decision-making. The successful candidate will be able to analyze global market trends, manage data-intensive reports, and generate actionable insights on foreign exchange, commodities, and interest rate movements.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze markets with a focus on key trends and developments.
  • Evaluate the impact of geo-political developments, macroeconomic indicators, and central bank policies on markets.
  • Generate detailed reports and dashboards for senior management, synthesizing complex market data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide market intelligence.
  • Execute or advise on trades and hedging strategies, where applicable.
  • Track and report daily market movements, commodity pricing, interest rate trends, and economic data releases.
  • Prepare MIS reports, forecasting models, and scenario analyses using Excel, Power BI, or other tools.
  • Support risk management strategies and assist in developing internal policies based on market analysis.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. MBA/CA/CFA is a plus.
  • 5-6 years of experience in market research, treasury, or market analysis, preferably in a banking or corporate finance setting.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, cross-market behavior, and global markets.
  • Expertise in geo-political risk assessment and its correlation to market movements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including macros, pivot tables, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with MIS preparation, data visualization tools, and financial analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to non-technical stakeholders.
