Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Professional to join our team. As a key member of our product development lifecycle, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated software systems and applications based on customer business goals and needs.

You will work closely with product management, engineering teams, customer success, and support to develop cutting-edge new product features and enhancements across various areas of our offerings.

This role is within the Advanced Support Engineering team, which is uniquely positioned with responsibilities in both customer support and software development. The team is responsible for Tier 3 customer support cases.

As part of this role, you will investigate challenging customer issues, perform deep investigations into product code bases to identify root causes, and assist with issue resolution.

The Advanced Support Engineering team develops software changes across all products, focusing on improving supportability. You will also develop tools for direct delivery to customers to assist with product usage.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate skills and interest in both software development and customer issue resolution.

  • Be a key part of the full product development lifecycle of software applications offered by us
  • Investigate and resolve complex customer issues; maintain high customer satisfaction
  • Work independently with moderate guidance from engineering management
  • Work comfortably within a high-pressure environment
  • Design, implement, and unit test changes to our products, including enhancements, defect fixes, and/or configuration adjustments
  • Recommend best practices and techniques to customers
  • Research, validate, and recommend key solutions
  • Mentor other engineers, including design collaboration and code reviews
  • Be an active member of an Agile team, collaboratively realizing features through continuous development, test, and delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science

  • 10+ years of commercial experience in software development using Java programming language, including IDEs, object-oriented design concepts, and delivering/maintaining software products
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable web applications and backend systems
  • Technical understanding of SQL, Hibernate, XML, and JSON
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts
  • Technical understanding of Web Services technologies, including REST, SOAP, and WSDL
  • Exposure to mature development processes, including source code control systems like Git
  • Demonstrated comfort with videoconferencing systems like Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Experience working with AI to automate work efforts and research knowledge
Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies, especially JavaScript; GWT is a plus
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
  • Work experience within an enterprise software or web company
  • Experience with training an AI/ML model
