Lead IT Project Management Office

Oversight of IT project portfolio governance, enforcing project management frameworks, and ensuring successful execution of all IT projects.

  • Accountable for IT portfolio processes including planning, governance, methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Ensure implementation of project management standards and practices across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor project management team members in performance reviews, career growth, and training.
  • Create and maintain internal and external staffing plans, making recommendations on long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams through all project phases.
  • Implement effective communication, steering committee meetings, and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate alignment of project goals with business objectives, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Foster agile/scrum methodologies while operating within the organization's software development life cycle framework.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in managing complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
  • Navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
  • Software product development life cycles experience mandatory.
  • Banking or financial services domain experience required.
