Information Security Risk Analyst

Job Overview:

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across various products, platforms, processes, and changes, adhering to the NIST RMF framework and documenting critical assets, threats, existing controls, vulnerabilities, and consequences.
  • Implement consistent scoring using defined likelihood/impact scales and calculate risk scores based on probability and impact formulas; categorize risks as low, medium, or high according to established thresholds.
  • Drive informed treatment decisions (mitigate, retain, avoid, or share) and develop clear treatment plans with owners and deadlines. Manage acceptance and escalation based on predetermined criteria and ensure approval records are maintained.
  • Maintain up-to-date Risk Registers with current statuses, residual risk, review dates, and supporting evidence.
  • Effectively communicate assessment results and treatment plans to stakeholders, fostering two-way communication and traceability.
  • Continuously monitor and trigger re-reviews when assets, threats, or vulnerabilities change; schedule periodic reassessments to maintain a proactive risk posture.
  • Be flexible in adapting to TPRM requirements: conduct vendor security assessments using our workflow during periods of high volume or resource unavailability; document results to the same standard as internal assessments.
Requirements:

We seek an experienced Information Security Risk Analyst with:

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience conducting information security risk assessments in an operational capacity, utilizing NIST RMF / NIST SP 800-30 methodologies.
  • A proven ability to apply a predefined process consistently: intake → scoping → risk statement → likelihood/impact scoring → treatment → acceptance → register updates.
  • Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-37 (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53 control families; ISO 27005 familiarity is advantageous.
  • Ability to evaluate evidence: policies/standards, SOC 2 Type II reports, ISO/IEC 27001 certificates, penetration test reports, vulnerability scans, and cloud configuration artifacts.
  • Proficiency in GRC/risk platforms (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, Archer, OneTrust, or similar) and solid spreadsheet skills.
