NetApp Consultant Specialist

  • We're seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a NetApp Consultant Specialist, someone who wants to make a real impact and be part of a forward-thinking organization that's shaping the future of IT infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of administering and maintaining complex storage systems, including NetApp appliances, with expertise in backup/restore operations and configuration management.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor and resolve issues on Netbackup jobs
  2. Perform Netbackup Agent upgrades/deployments as needed
  3. Participate in NetApp Storage activities, such as OntAp (Operating System) upgrades, new builds, projects and other planned operations
  4. Provide regional knowledge on incidents related to NetApp Storages and Netbackup
  5. Document, plan and implement changes for Storage and Netbackup infrastructure
  6. Work with local, regional and global stakeholders to achieve shared objectives
  7. Build and configure Windows systems
  8. Implement system upgrades via SCCM and automation (scripting)
  9. Identify service impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long-term solutions
  10. Work through problems and issues to obtain root cause analysis
  11. Support planning and install of new operating system releases to maintain software currency
  12. Plan and install upgrades/new software, including some local customization
  13. Support planning and installation of system software patches to fix identified problems
  14. Manage system & software configurations (via change control)
Requirements:
  1. Subject matter expert on NetApp appliances (FAS and AFF) including all connectivity protocols such as IP and Fiber connectivity for SAN and NAS provisioning
  2. Provide capacity planning for Storage Dynamic Expansion and Storage Auto-provisioning on NetApp Appliances
  3. Implement patching and vulnerability remediation updates on a storage environment
  4. Administer and maintain system health of all storage systems
  5. Knowledge and experience in backup/restore operations with focus on NetBackup
  6. Configuration, management and maintenance of storage and storage replication stack
  7. Good understanding of Microsoft Windows environment, including Active Directory, DFS Namespace, CIFS file sharing, and windows clustering
  8. Advanced knowledge of files services administration and permissions management and file auditing
  9. Understand advances and changes in the technology industry and work directly with vendors to assess new technologies
  10. Good knowledge on installation configuration and Administration of Windows Server environment
