Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced cost controller professional to join our team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project budgets across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Budget Management:
    • Develop, monitor, and control project budgets in collaboration with project managers to ensure accurate financial tracking.
    • Track actual project costs versus budgets, particularly staff time allocation and related expenses, to identify variances and trends.
    • Propose corrective actions proactively to prevent overruns and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Resource Utilization:
    • Maintain real-time visibility of staff deployment across projects to optimize resource allocation.
    • Collaborate with HR and project leads to track man-hours and ensure efficient resource usage, supporting project scheduling with cost-efficiency insights.
  • Cost Reporting & Forecasting:
    • Prepare weekly/monthly project cost reports with variance analysis and commentary to inform senior leadership decisions.
    • Provide cost insights to support resource planning and profitability analysis, driving business growth.
  • Process & Compliance:
    • Establish cost control systems, procedures, and reporting formats to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct cost audits and internal reviews to validate expense accuracy and maintain financial integrity.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between the finance team and project managers to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
    • Contribute to project review meetings with detailed cost performance data, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in cost control, preferably in a project-based or consulting environment.
  • Strong understanding of project accounting, time tracking, and resource management systems.
  • Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP/project management tools.
