Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant General Manager – Cost Control. The role involves overseeing cost management processes across multiple projects, ensuring financial discipline, accuracy in cost estimation, monitoring budgets, and implementing cost control measures. The AGM will collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams, and finance departments to optimize resource utilization and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project cost control activities, including budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Review BOQs, contracts, and tender documents to ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Establish and maintain cost databases and benchmarks for interior and civil works.
  • Track project expenses, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work with procurement and contracts teams to evaluate vendor quotations and negotiations.
  • Provide regular cost reports and dashboards to senior management.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Mentor and guide cost control team members, ensuring process standardization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cost management within the construction or interior contracting industries.
  • Strong knowledge of estimation, budgeting, and cost control methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and multiple projects.
