Job Title: General Manager- Legal

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager-Legal to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the legal affairs and risks of the organization, helping business lines and functions structure transactions, products, contracts, and set up procedures along best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law and experience in managing litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other disputes. They will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and results-driven individual who is passionate about legal affairs and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the legal affairs and risks of the organization
  • Helping business lines and functions structure transactions, products, contracts, and set up procedures along best practices
  • Resolving legal problems and proposing solutions that help the business lines complete their transactions/resolve issues within the company's operational/legal framework
  • Building a good, sound, responsive, and efficient legal team, instilling discipline and internal control, setting up proper filing systems, procedures, and backup systems
  • Managing litigation (both civil and criminal matters), arbitration, mediation, NCLT, rent matters, cheque dishonor, criminal complaints, and other disputes
  • Managing proceedings for return of property seized by the police from the accused, pursuant to the complaint filed against the accused
  • Handling issues pertaining to trademarks of TCIL/SOTC/TCI & other TC Group Companies
  • Rendering legal advice on various business agreements/projects
  • Strategizing and driving to maximize recovery value
  • Communicating with government and regulators, authorities, etc.
  • Providing advisory services for brand equity and image building
  • Updating the management regarding contingent liabilities and litigation costs
  • Advising on property matters pertaining to obtaining premises on leave and license basis
  • Finalizing criminal complaints in cases of fraud and coordinating with security consultants to ensure complaints are filed
