Job Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in managing cloud-based databases, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS) OpenSearch or Elasticsearch clusters, as well as expertise in in-memory databases (e.g., Redis, Memcached) or graph databases (e.g., Neo4j).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Optimize and manage AWS OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, in-memory (e.g., Redis, Memcached), and graph database (e.g., Neo4j) clusters for high availability and performance.
  2. Design schemas and data models for search, caching, and graph-based use cases.
  3. Tune query performance and indexing strategies to meet service level agreements (SLAs) for critical production systems.
  4. Implement automation scripts using DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues in real-time for revenue-impacting systems.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing cloud-based databases, with 3+ years managing AWS OpenSearch or Elasticsearch in production.
  • Strong expertise in data distribution, sharding, caching, and graph traversals for efficient query performance.
  • Proficient in schema design and data modeling for search, caching, and graph use cases.
  • Experience with in-memory databases (e.g., Redis, Memcached) or graph databases (e.g., Neo4j Cypher).
  • Skilled in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
