Database Specialist Position

About the Role:

The Database Specialist will be responsible for supporting ongoing efforts and providing technical support for multiple database re-platforming efforts to Exadata. This includes reviewing and implementing data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication, as well as optimization and tuning of SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support ongoing database re-platforming efforts to Exadata.
  • Review and implement data loading scripts related to Golden Gate data replication.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and indexes in Oracle.
  • Maintain strong programming development skills using PL/SQL, package, procedures, functions, triggers.
  • Proficient in performance tuning, PL/SQL, using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and Hints.
  • Expertise in Oracle architecture.
  • Manage database objects like tablespace, users, indexes, roles, privileges, profiles, and synonyms.
  • Monitor database performance and coordinate with data architects and analysts on schema design.
  • Provide DBA supervision and Oracle best practices guidance for custom application development.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of database concepts and principles.
  • Experience with Oracle database administration.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
