About the Role:We are seeking a skilled Loan Risk Assessor to analyze and evaluate loan applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze credit reports and property appraisals to assess loan eligibility.
- Verify borrower income sources and debt-to-income ratios to minimize risk.
- Review loan elements and investor guidelines to ensure alignment.
- Enter loan data into the Quality Control system for tracking and analysis.
- Examine closing documents and disclosures for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform High Cost, APR, Amount Financed, and State Predatory tests in the Compliance Review system.
- Identify and comment on loan inaccuracies and deficiencies.
- Assign loan level defects based on severity and type of deficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mortgage underwriting, processing, and/or quality control. A Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required, along with knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA lending.
Audit and analyze various files to determine if all requirements are met, focusing on obtaining accurate information about loan applications by analyzing mortgage policies. Maintain high standards of work and attention to detail when reviewing and approving financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities:Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct thorough analysis of loan applications, including credit reports, property appraisals, and borrower income sources.
Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and minimize risk through verification of loan elements and investor guidelines.
Data Entry and Tracking: Enter loan data into the Quality Control system for tracking and analysis.
Closing Documents and Disclosures: Examine closing documents and disclosures for accuracy and completeness.
Compliance Testing: Perform High Cost, APR, Amount Financed, and State Predatory tests in the Compliance Review system.
Defect Identification and Assignment: Identify and comment on loan inaccuracies and deficiencies, assigning loan level defects based on severity and type of deficiency.
