As a seasoned Azure cloud database expert, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Azure Administration: Proven experience in administering Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) is required.
  • Database Security: Experience with database security principles and implementation, including secure backup and restore operations.
  • Performance Tuning: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.

Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain high-performance Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment; Ensure the high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications; Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines; Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).

About the Position

As a lead database administrator, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities. This includes managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network and Security, and supporting the lifecycle management of business-critical applications.

Requirements: 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL databases; Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL); Experience with SQL server Upgrade and Migration to Azure; Experience with large-scale complex database architecture with Replications and DR.
