Project Cost Controller

This critical role is accountable for overseeing and managing costs across large-scale projects. Ensuring that project expenditures are aligned with established budgets, the Project Cost Controller plays a pivotal part in maintaining financial health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Cost Management
  • Track and monitor costs throughout various project phases, guaranteeing alignment with predetermined budgets.
  • Prepare detailed variance reports to analyze causes of discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Validate costs against contractual terms, identifying potential overruns or savings opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Profound knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS 15, IFRS 9, IFRS 16, and IAS 16).
  • Comprehensive understanding of EPC project lifecycle and cost drivers.
  • Technical proficiency in project management and accounting software (SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical skills in cost analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Effective communication skills to present cost information and insights to stakeholders.

A successful candidate will possess a strong background in cost control, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to convey complex financial data effectively. They must be able to collaborate with project teams, track progress, and update percentage-of-completion calculations as per IFRS 15.

Responsibilities include preparing regular financial and cost reports, analyzing project expenses, forecasting costs for project budgeting purposes, conducting audits to ensure accurate cost allocation, inventory and procurement cost management, risk management, and fixed asset management.
