Network Infrastructure Expert

Job Overview

  • Responsibility for overseeing all network activities at the data centre and disaster recovery site, including installations, upgrades, migrations, incident management, performance tuning, reporting, and patching.
  • Proficiency in switching, routing, and network equipment is required.
  • Experience with Leaf & Spine Architecture in Data Centre is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring networks using tools such as Cisco IOS, PRTG, NetFlow, etc. is essential.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale data centre networks is a must.
  • Management of configuration changes for switches/routers when required, and periodic backup of configurations are also part of the job.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot Layer2 protocols, including VLAN, Private VLANS, VTP, STP, DTP, Trunking, Stacking, Ethernet channel, DOT1Q, ISL, SVI, etc. is required.
  • Ability to configure IPSEC tunnels between locations is also necessary.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Layer3 protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Static Routing, High Availability Protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP), Floating Static Routing, Failover, etc. are also essential.
  • Support for IPv4, IPv6, NTP, ACLs, Route-map, Prefix-Lists, PBR, AAA, TACAS, RADIUS, CEF, IPv6 CEF, SLA, TRACK, SNMP, EEM, Syslog, Flow-export, RADIO, EVPN-VXLAN should be provided.
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Network Load Balancers Datacentre core switching and routing upgrade & maintenance are also required.
  • Router access control management is also necessary.
  • Fault management of routers and switches should be handled.
  • Corrective actions to resolve faults and ensure high network uptime are a must.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging of problems are also essential.
  • Deploying monitoring tools for identifying problem areas and taking early rectifications if required is a must.
  • Periodic fine-tuning to ensure optimal network availability should be done.
