Supply Chain Manager Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing stock replenishment in assigned areas of the supply chain network
  • Defining safety stock norms and maintaining stock levels in all CFAs to manage uncertainties in demand & supply
  • Delivering fill rates (OTIF) at all CFAs across the country
  • Ensuring On Time Finished Goods delivery of Consumer promotions, new launches, and season plans in alignment with demand & supply team
  • Maintaining high stock Freshness across all CFAs & working on strategies to reduce SLOB

Main Tasks and/or Projects:

  • Daily stock availability monitoring and distribution planning for all CFAs
  • Aligning with Logistics team on Dispatch schedule and releasing dispatch plan
  • Ensuring high truck utilization for all vehicle movements – Reducing transportation cost
  • Ensuring On Time dispatches and managing stock levels in the CFAs to avoid sales loss or stock outs
  • Pro-actively looking at current gaps in service levels (Case Fill, Delivery performance, service network) and suggesting and implementing improvement plans
  • NPD, promotion & season plans: Aligning the plan schedules with demand team and ensuring distribution within timelines
  • Maintaining required stock freshness in all CFAs – Highlighting SLOB risks and managing liquidation in collaboration with Sales & Marketing teams
  • Working on action plans to reduce SLOB generation
  • Providing forward requirement visibility to Supply team to ensure stock availability
  • Co-ordinating with various stakeholders

  • Stock Freshness
  • SLOB control / reduction

Education & Qualification:

  • MBA – Operations/B.E., Field of Study – Supply Chain, Planning, Customer Service in Supply
  • 2–4 years of work experience in Supply Chain, Planning & Distribution in FMCG industry
