As a key member of the Certara Information Technology organization, the IT Procurement and Software Asset Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of IT Procurement & Asset Management (ITAM) operations. This enables key corporate priorities by controlling costs, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating security and financial risks.



This role is responsible for executing new and renewal procurement tasks while maintaining accurate asset utilization tracking, inventory levels, and ensuring business continuity. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their experience to improve service delivery and scalability in a global environment.



Responsibilities

The following are some of the key responsibilities of the IT Procurement and Software Asset Manager:





  • Procurement: This includes planning, procuring, and scheduling the acquisition of IT hardware, software, and related items through documented processes.

  • Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings.

  • Utilize forecasting and data to drive on-time delivery of IT assets and strive to maintain business continuity.

  • Maintain regular contact with vendors and suppliers to ensure value and operational support are met.

  • Collect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.

  • Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered.



Software Asset Management

The IT Procurement and Software Asset Manager is also responsible for software asset management, which includes:





  • Identifying savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services.

  • Developing, implementing, and refining software asset management policies, processes, and procedures.

  • Maintaining software standards, validating product lists, and maintenance contracts with the asset management database.

  • Reporting of software installations and used licenses (gather and consolidate data, create software installation reports).

  • Gathering requirements and developing reports for internal customers.



Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:





  • 6+ years of related experience in an IT support organization.

  • 6+ years of related experience working with software requests, licensing, and licensing databases.

  • 6+ IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experience.

  • Proven experience working as a procurement specialist.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and results.

  • Team player with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and resolve complex problems.

  • Conceptional knowledge of Information Technology.

  • The ability to plan, delegate, and evaluate progress toward goals.

  • Ability to think, plan, and work independently under general direction.

  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management processes and experience with Discovery tool.

  • Able to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary.

  • Capacity to consider governance and regulatory constraints.

  • Proven researching ability.

  • Advanced Excel skills to facilitate "Charge-back" & "Show-back" reports as required.
