Job Description

As a facilities manager, you will oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the physical plant, ensuring it is safe, secure, and functioning properly. You will manage budgets, supervise staff, and develop long-term plans for preventative maintenance and asset protection.

You will also be responsible for managing construction projects, selecting vendors, and maintaining relationships with external customers such as city building/zoning department and fire prevention bureau.

In addition, you will perform regular property inspections to ensure that buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.

  • Maintain regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards
  • Manage and control heat, light and power and recommend current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations
  • Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs
  • Distribute preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitor timeliness and quality of completion
Required Skills and Qualifications

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major, along with 1 year experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area, and technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
