Job Position:

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our interdisciplinary UAV engineering team in the development of Hybrid UAV subsystems and payload interfaces using advanced parametric CAD tools.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design of Hybrid UAV subsystems and payload interfaces, ensuring alignment with product architecture and scalability requirements.
  • Develop and maintain complex CAD trees, system layouts, and 3D model integrity across revisions, applying sound understanding of structural analysis fundamentals and ability to interpret FEA results.
  • Drive modular and scalable design practices, preparing assembly BOMs, jigs and fixture interfaces, and supporting design-to-assembly planning.
  • Contribute to design improvements based on ease of assembly, maintainability, and ergonomics, leveraging expertise in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems for version control, workflows, and digital thread management.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineering, integration, sourcing, testing, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely maturity of the mechanical stack.
  • Solid knowledge of materials and process-specific constraints, evaluating designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and reliability using DFM, DFX, and material selection tools.
  • Familiarity with Windchill PLM or equivalent for part structures, release cycles, and change management, as well as 3D printing techniques and suitable printer types, grain structures, material properties, and post-processing requirements.
  • Support V&V activities and ensure that mechanical designs comply with technical specs and regulatory needs.
