Unified Communications Specialist

A highly experienced L4 UC Engineer
- Title alternatives: Unified Communications Specialist, Voice over IP Expert, Telecommunications Architect, Network Systems Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Unified Communications products and technologies, with expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex UC architectures. Key areas include SIP trunks, PRIs, codec negotiation, SIP headers, call routing logic, advanced IOS gateway setup, dial peers, DSP resources, survivability strategies for CUBE and voice gateways, analog devices, and end-to-end call flow design across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design robust UC architectures, including clusters, inter-cluster trunks, and high availability configurations.
- Configure and troubleshoot SIP trunks, PRIs, codec negotiation, SIP headers, and call routing logic.
- Deploy advanced IOS gateway setup, dial peers, DSP resources, and survivability strategies for CUBE and voice gateways.
- Work with analog devices, such as analog gateways, analog phones, fax devices, DTMF & dial-tone behavior, FXS/FXO ports.
- Engineer end-to-end call flow design across multiple platforms, including CUCM, Unity, UCCX/UCCE, Expressway.
- Deploy IPT solutions on UCS platforms or migrate to cloud-based collaboration, including Webex Calling and Cisco HCS.
- Forecast growth, design scalable dial plans, and manage bandwidth across WAN links.
- Architect failover strategies, backup systems, and DR testing protocols.
- Connect IPT with third-party systems, including CRM, ERP, SIP endpoints, and SBCs.
- Lead change advisory boards, document impact assessments, and enforce configuration standards.
