Data Architect

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.

This role requires a strong understanding of big data tools and technologies, including HDFS/S3, Spark/Flink, Hive, HBase, Kafka/Kinesis, relational SQL and NoSQL databases, such as Elasticsearch and Cassandra/Mongodb.

The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud services, data pipeline and workflow management tools, stream-processing systems, and object-oriented/scripting languages.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in either Scala or Python, with expertise in Spark and performance tuning optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformations and modeling.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Apache Spark, with the ability to write Spark jobs and tune them for better performance.
  • Able to handle large datasets efficiently and optimize Spark jobs (partitions, shuffles, caching, memory usage, etc.).

What We're Looking For:

  • Candidates with 2+ years of experience in a Data Engineer/Architect role.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with structured/unstructured datasets.
  • Ability to build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, dimensional modeling, metadata, dependency, schema registration/evolution, and workload management.
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
