Job Description

This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced engineer who can drive the creation of innovative SoC architectures from concept to production. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing wireless SoC projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop technical specifications, and driving design execution through various phases.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute wireless SoC projects from inception to delivery
  • Collaborate with product marketing teams to establish SoC requirements and provide necessary design collateral
  • Develop and maintain SoC architecture or technical specifications to meet product needs, emphasizing IP reuse
  • Create project schedules, including milestones and resource allocations, while coordinating with software teams on dependencies
  • Drive project execution by coordinating with global design functional leads, tracking progress, and resolving issues
  • Represent the design community, providing weekly status updates and attending cross-functional meetings to drive design action items to closure
  • Oversee SoC design integration and maintain design collateral, such as documentation, register libraries, and pinouts
  • Adhere to established quality procedures and processes to achieve first tapeout
  • Support validation and product test teams during silicon bringup, validation, characterization, and qualification
  • Triage, track, and resolve issues reported during silicon evaluation, potentially executing metal or full layer revisions

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in industry
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Leadership skills to manage complex IP, SoC development projects
  • Ability to coordinate with contractors
  • Top-down planning and execution of SoC projects
  • Experience in full-chip development cycles
  • Capability to build strong technical teams
  • Hands-on experience in architecture, microarchitecture, digital design processes
  • Knowledge of high-speed interfaces (USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Mobile DDR, Quad/Octa-SPI)
  • Familiarity with processors (RISC-V, ARM)
  • Understanding of design signoff flows (Lint, CDC, Formal Verification, Synthesis, Constraints, STA Timing Closure)
  • Knowledge of DFT (Scan, ATPG, MBIST)
  • Low power design methodology knowledge (static/dynamic clock gating, power gating, dynamic voltage and frequency scaling)
  • Hardware accelerators expertise
  • Verilog and System Verilog proficiency
  • Scripting languages knowledge (Perl, Python, Tcl, shell)
