Cloud Architecture Expert

Our organization is seeking a skilled Cloud Architecture Expert to collaborate on designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective cloud architectures on AWS or GCP.
  2. Develop strategies, blueprints, and best practices for cloud adoption.
  3. Ensure architectural designs align with business requirements and future scalability.
Deployment:
  1. Guide the implementation of cloud infrastructure and applications.
  2. Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to ensure seamless deployment and operationalization of cloud solutions.
  3. Drive automation efforts for infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Leadership:
  1. Act as a subject matter expert for cloud technologies (AWS or GCP).
  2. Evaluate new cloud services and technologies, recommending their adoption where beneficial.
  3. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams.
Security & Cost Optimization:
  1. Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of cloud environments.
  2. Implement and enforce security best practices, compliance standards, and governance policies within the cloud.
  3. Drive cost optimization initiatives across cloud resources, identifying efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
Stakeholder Management:
  1. Work closely with product management, engineering leads, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into cloud architectural requirements.
  2. Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 8-13 years of total experience in IT, with significant hands-on experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Architect with deep expertise in either AWS or GCP.
  • AWS: Extensive experience with core AWS services.
  • GCP: Extensive experience with core GCP services.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns.
  • Proficiency in designing for scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and security in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts.
  • Experience with cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance.
  • Experience with various cloud database services and data warehousing.
Management:
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect certification.
  • Experience in a product-based company environment.
  • Knowledge of FinOps principles and tools for cloud cost management.
  • Experience with containerization technologies.
  • Scripting proficiency.
