Chief Technical Officer

The role of Chief Technical Officer is a pivotal position in the organization, overseeing day-to-day technical operations and ensuring seamless functioning across all hospitality assets. This individual will lead the engineering team to maintain regulatory compliance, implement preventive maintenance schedules, and enhance energy efficiency.

Key Organizational Relationships:

  • Reports to: Business Head | VP-Engineering
  • Reporting Roles: Asst. Manager, Sr. Engineer, Engineer, Sr. Shift Engineer, Shift Engineer, Sr. Technician, Technician, Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence
  • Develop and execute technical strategies to drive operational excellence, focusing on smooth system functioning and guest satisfaction.
  • Design and implement preventive maintenance schedules for electro-mechanical and civil infrastructure, minimizing downtime and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Maintain utility consumption (HLP) at optimal levels, ensure energy efficiency, and promote cost-effective practices.
  • Ensure timely renewal of statutory licenses, upkeep of machine rooms, and adherence to engineering standards of practice.
Technical Competence
  • Provide department-level technical training, emphasizing safety protocols and best practices, including DuPont-based methodologies.
  • Coordinate documentation and retention of records as per audit and operational requirements.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Promote eco-friendly practices and awareness among team members, fostering a sustainable work environment.
Team Leadership
  • Supervise technical teams, assign responsibilities, and track daily performance metrics.
  • Support HR in hiring, onboarding, and skill-building initiatives for engineering roles, ensuring talent development and succession planning.
  • Motivate and engage staff through recognition programs, team briefings, and open communication channels.
  • Maintain a culture of accountability, safety, and professionalism within the department.
Business Acumen
  • Monitor engineering expenses, highlight deviations, and ensure budget adherence, promoting financial prudence.
  • Recommend cost-effective procurement of services, parts, and technical equipment, enhancing value for money.
  • Review and submit regular reports, utility analysis, and variance reports to senior management.
  • Evaluate and support capital expenditure proposals related to engineering upgrades, aligning with organizational objectives.
Leadership & Executive Presence
  • Represent Engineering in management meetings, collaborating with other departments to drive strategic decisions.
  • Handle guest/resident technical complaints with professionalism and promptness, ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in audits, reward programs, and company-wide initiatives, upholding brand image and stakeholder expectations.
  • Uphold brand reputation through consistent service quality and stakeholder communication, fostering a positive work environment.
Occupational Health & Safety
  • Implement HSSE practices, ensuring systematic risk assessment and mitigation, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Train staff in fire safety, first aid, hazard awareness, and emergency procedures, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Investigate and log incidents, implementing corrective/preventive actions, and ensuring audit compliance.
  • Ensure readiness of Local Management System (LMS), adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • B.E. / B-Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Work Experience:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in hospitality or real estate engineering operations
