About this role:

We are looking for a seasoned technology leader to oversee our engineering organization in India. As the Director of Engineering, you will play a key part in shaping a top-tier software development team responsible for building scalable, reliable, and available systems.

This is a people manager role reporting to the VP, Product & Technology. Your responsibilities will include hiring and developing exceptional talent, fostering an environment where execution, innovation, and learning thrive.

You will drive product development that delights customers while maintaining the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt. You will champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a high-quality development environment.

Additionally, you will provide coaching and leadership in software best practices, automated test strategies, and work towards minimizing the cost of change curve for our software products and services.

You will prioritize user experiences and be a partner to product management, sales, operations, and other parts of the business.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of combined software development and management experience across multiple languages and frameworks
  • 8+ years hands-on software development experience
  • 3+ years managing software organizations over 25 people
  • Demonstrated track record of building and leading global engineering teams in India with international collaboration
  • Demonstrated track record of innovating on v1 products - driving them from ideation to usage by millions of users in a startup-like environment
  • You obsess over customer experiences and will be a partner to product management/engineering, sales, operations, and other parts of the business
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing direct reports who are people managers
  • Experience with full-stack SaaS development - prior experience in Enterprise SaaS companies
  • Experience building integration platforms and infrastructure to seamlessly integrate applications
  • Experience with distributed backend systems involving REST API abstraction layers in complex environments
  • Knowledge and experience in high-scale, highly available systems
  • Demonstrated track record of being a change agent, leaving every team and process better than found
