System Administrator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hardware and Software Management: Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, networks, printers, and systems.
  • System Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal uptime.
  • User Account Management: Manage user accounts, access rights, and security permissions.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to employees and resolve IT-related queries.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Oversee data backups, recovery processes, and disaster recovery planning.
  • IT Security: Implement and monitor IT security measures (firewalls, antivirus, patching, etc.).
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors for procurement, maintenance, and service support.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of IT assets (laptops, desktops, servers, network devices, etc.).
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with IT policies and data protection guidelines.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding: Support the onboarding/offboarding process with IT setup and access management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience as an IT Administrator/System Administrator or similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments, hands-on experience with networking (LAN, WAN, VPN, routers, switches), familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Workspace, etc.), good understanding of cybersecurity practices, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
