Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will help design and develop technology solutions that meet our business needs.

The successful candidate will participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, implementation, maintenance, and support. To be successful, they must have a solid skill set, a desire to continue growing as a Database Administrator, and a team-player mentality.

This role requires strong analytical skills and experience with database management systems. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage production databases servers, including security, deployment, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
  • Design and implement new installations on cloud hosting with no specific DB services.
  • Deploy and maintain on-premise installations of SQL Server on Linux/MySQL.
  • Ensure database security and protection against SQL injection and exploiting intellectual property.
  • Assist development teams with data storage and query design/optimization where required.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of essential applications.
  • Demonstrate expertise and add valuable input throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Help design and implement scalable, lasting technology solutions.
  • Review current systems and suggest updates as required.
  • Gather requirements from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document procedures for setting up and maintaining a highly available SQL Server database on cloud environments.
  • Test and debug new applications and updates.
  • Resolve reported issues and reply to queries in a timely manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • SQL Server management on cloud environments.
  • MySQL Backup, SQL Server Backup, Replication, Clustering, Log shipping experience on Linux/Windows.
  • Setting up, managing, and maintaining SQL Server/MySQL on Linux.
  • Experience with database usage and management.
  • Familiar with multi-tier, object-oriented, secure application design architecture.
  • Experience in cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of web-based applications and technologies.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on our success.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with clients via different modes of communication.
Benefits:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as SQL Server DBA and MySQL DBA.
  • Ubuntu Linux knowledge is preferred.
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP/Azure DBA/MySQL certifications a plus.
