Key Responsibilities

The role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of a raw material store, ensuring that all raw materials are properly labeled, identified, and stored according to established SOPs and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage receipt, storage, issuance, and record maintenance for raw materials.
  • Conduct regular stock verification, cycle counts, and reconciliation of physical vs. system stock.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Production, and Quality teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials without disruption.
  • Maintain FIFO/FEFO system for material issuance.
  • Monitor storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) to maintain material quality.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, and other regulatory requirements for raw material handling.
  • Manage documentation including GRNs, stock registers, bin cards, and SAP/ERP entries.
  • Identify slow-moving, non-moving, or expired raw materials and coordinate for proper disposal as per guidelines.

Additional responsibilities include supporting audits by ensuring documentation accuracy and store readiness, and training and supervising store assistants/handlers on material handling, safety, and SOP adherence.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Science, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in raw material store management, preferably in pharmaceuticals/medical devices/manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of inventory management techniques (FIFO, FEFO, JIT).
  • Strong understanding of ISO 13485, GMP, and regulatory compliance related to raw material handling.

As an ideal candidate, you should possess excellent knowledge of inventory management and material control, strong documentation and record-keeping skills, good coordination and communication skills, ability to manage a team, proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word), and attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
