Database Services Specialist

The role of Database Services Specialist involves providing operational and database services to the organization.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and requests in a timely manner.
  • Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Performing regular database maintenance activities, including data loads, schema updates, database copies, software installs, upgrades, and patches.
  • Running daily database checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assisting with the automation of regular database support activities.
  • Maintaining code in centralized repositories appropriate to each project.
  • Supporting and implementing database solutions in Microsoft SQL Server.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in database development and support in MS SQL Server environments.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries, Stored Procedures, Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database integrity, configuration, patching work, and index management.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server tools, SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design, stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints.
