Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing reports.

You will work closely with our team to carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair, prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards, and conduct design and assessment checks under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.

As a Bridge Engineer, you will ensure compliance with AIP or other project requirements, use WSP calculation templates, and continually strive to develop and increase skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE.

In this role, you will participate in team meetings and learning sessions to disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake assessments of existing bridges and prepare reports.
  • Cary out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair.
  • Prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards.
  • Conduct design and assessment checks under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
  • Ensure compliance with AIP or other project requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bridge Design experience
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes
  • UK CEng qualification
