Database Administrator Job Description

This is a senior-level Database Administrator role that requires expertise in managing and supporting Oracle databases in a production environment.

  • Manage and support Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c) in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC for high availability and clustering.
  • Perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Handle L2 incidents, patching, and backup/recovery (RMAN).
  • Work with Data Guard for disaster recovery and replication.
  • Implement security policies, user access controls, and database auditing.
  • Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting or PL/SQL.
  • Collaborate with application teams and escalate critical issues to L3 support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Expertise in Oracle database administration (11g, 12c, 19c)
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC for high availability and clustering
  • Ability to perform database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Experience with L2 incident handling, patching, and backup/recovery (RMAN)
  • Knowledge of Data Guard for disaster recovery and replication
