We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Intern to join our Global Centre GSS Finance team in Pune, India.

The successful candidate will report to the Team Lead for Accounts Payable and be responsible for overseeing all accounts payable duties for a given geographical region.

Key qualifications for this role include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, with 0-3 years of experience in invoice processing in a high-volume environment.

Basic knowledge of accounting principles, including sub-ledger, general ledger, and month-end closing processes, is essential.

Candidates with Oracle hands-on experience and previous experience with a Professional Services Company are preferred.

Excellent English skills, both written and verbal, are required, as well as flexibility with shifts to support various geographies as per business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices into the invoice approval workflow system, including general ledger coding for overheads.
  • Match invoices with Purchase Orders and goods/services receipts (3-way matching).
  • Investigate discrepancies and take action to resolve.
  • Perform weekly payment runs and book payments within the relevant vendor accounts on a timely basis.
  • Prepare tax withholding on applicable payments and organize remittance through the Accounting Control team to relevant authorities.
  • Resolve system-based invoice transfer errors.
  • Follow up with suppliers/internal stakeholders on rejected invoices.
  • Reconcile Accounts Payable statements from vendors to take actions to resolve promptly any dispute or overdue invoices.
  • Complete monthly/weekly Accounts Payable sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliations.
  • Provide payment notices to vendors.
