High-Performance Cobol Developer OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Mainframe Cobol Developer to join our development team at a leading financial institution. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance COBOL applications that meet business requirements.About the Role:
  • Cobol Programming: Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications to improve efficiency or add new features.
  • JCL (Job Control Language): Create and maintain JCL scripts to manage batch jobs for data processing.
  • DB2 (Database): Design and develop DB2 queries to interact with databases, ensuring optimal performance.
  • VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method): Work with VSAM files to store and retrieve data efficiently.
  • CICS (Customer Information Control System): Develop and maintain CICS-based applications, ensuring seamless communication between online programs and data resources.
  • Agile Methodology: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Banking Domain Knowledge: Develop software that aligns with banking regulations, business processes, and security standards.

This position requires 5+ years of experience as a Mainframe Cobol Developer, with expertise in JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, IMS, Agile Software Development, and Banking Domain Knowledge. Familiarity with modern mainframe technologies and programming languages is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
