Job Title: Mainframe Storage System Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Storage System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe storage subsystems and be able to design, implement, and maintain high-performance storage systems.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement high-performance storage systems to meet business needs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing storage systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address storage-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest storage technologies and best practices to ensure our systems remain current and efficient.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • Strong knowledge of storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • Experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification in Mainframe storage administration.
  • 5+ years of experience with Mainframe virtualization technologies such as z/VM and z/Linux.
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing DevOps practices and tools for Mainframe storage administration and automation.
