Accounting Expertise

A senior accountant plays a vital role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide critical support to the finance team and other internal departments on complex accounting matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information to protect the organization's value.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reconciliations and financial reporting.

Key Financial Operations:

  • Oversee daily accounting tasks, including journal entries and ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, potentially including AP and AR for North American entities.

Taxation and Compliance:

  • Prepare and submit GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual returns.
  • Handle TDS/TCS compliance and return filings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of Professional Tax (PT) and Provident Fund (PF) returns.
  • Support statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.

Financial Analysis and Budgeting:

  • Prepare monthly Management Information Systems (MIS) reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
  • Develop divisional reports for assigned North American divisions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to create monthly budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and internal policies.

Banking and Treasury:

  • Reconcile bank accounts and manage banking transactions.
  • Process payroll disbursements, vendor payments, and statutory dues.
  • Track customer receipts to ensure timely payment to vendors.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage with external auditors, consultants, and statutory authorities.
  • Drive process improvements and enhance internal financial controls.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers and compute depreciation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in Zoho Books, Microsoft Navision, and Zoho Payroll.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookup, and advanced formulas.
  • Analytical thinking and high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Preferred qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance).
  • Prior experience in mid-to-large organizations or a CA firm.

Experience and Skills:

  • 4-8 years of experience for MBA (Finance) graduates.
  • 1-2 years of experience for qualified Chartered Accountants (CA).
  • CA/MBA (Finance) degree.
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic.
  • Well-organized with ability to work independently.
  • Great attention to detail.
