Senior Taxation Specialist

This is a senior-level role for a highly experienced tax professional with expertise in US taxation, specifically focusing on complex financial services clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and detailed review of complex tax returns, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Fund of Funds.
  • Detailed review of State returns for financial services clients.
  • Identify international filing requirements by analyzing organizational charts and reviewing international tax returns.
  • Train and supervise staff on tax concepts, technology, and provide timely feedback on project reviews.
  • Supervise kick-off calls to understand client needs, regular connects with US counterparts, and intervene in budget conflicts and resource scheduling issues.
  • Guide staff on potential tax adjustments due to tax law changes and e-filing validations.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate performance, mentor team members, and facilitate trainings.
  • Ensure adherence to timelines and maintain high-quality work through consistent learning.

Requirements:

  • Ability to conduct independent tax research in unseen scenarios.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ready to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner with a positive demeanor and a team player.
  • Ability to work long hours during busy seasons and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong multitasking and project management skills.
  • Excellent training and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to guide subordinates through technical problems.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (US) certification.
  • Experience in detail review of tax returns.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and Case ware.
  • Relevant experience of more than 5+ years with major experience in Financial Services Returns.
