Job Title: Senior Storage Solutions Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned storage solutions architect to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex storage infrastructures.

  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAN technologies, including VMAX, VNX, HP 3par, Cisco & Brocade.
  • They should be proficient in managing incident/change/problem management in mission-critical environments.
  • Expertise in fabric refresh planning, execution, and cutover processes is essential.
  • The candidate should also have knowledge of host-based/SRDF migrations, array migrations, and setting up host-based ACLs.
  • Hands-on experience with decommissioning processes for all above SAN technologies is required.
  • Ability to perform patch/code installations and upgrades in various array and fabric models is necessary.
  • Experience with Isilon and CDOT file storage, along with expertise in planning and implementing NAS migration at large scales, is desired.
  • Supporting Broadcom Brocade G620, G720, 7840 – department class and Gen 6 and Gen 7 – director class switches is an added advantage.
  • Planning, architecting, and implementing large-scale fabric migrations is a key responsibility.
  • Advanced knowledge of performance and capacity management for block and file storage is crucial.
  • Knowledge of IP-based block storage – Solidfire, ScaleIO, Powerflex – is a plus.
  • Basic UNIX management skills are expected.
  • Software development experience in general-purpose programming languages like Python, Java, C, C++, Go, Shell scripting is required.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, detail-oriented nature, and strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Excellent debugging and trouble-shooting skills, along with ability to analyze and resolve project-related issues, are essential.
  • Ability to deal with different stakeholder groups to elicit business requirements, procedures, and processes is required.
  • Flexibility to work in a high-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work is necessary.
  • Being a team player and leader who shows commitment and dedication, maintains a positive attitude, and performs well under pressure is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage complex storage infrastructures.
  • Manage incident/change/problem management in mission-critical environments.
  • Plan, execute, and manage fabric refreshes.
  • Migrate hosts, arrays, and fabrics while ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Install and upgrade storage systems and software.
  • Develop and maintain storage infrastructure roadmaps.
  • Provide training and support to storage engineers and other teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the field.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in storage architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Proven track record of successful projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering results.
  • Strong technical skills in SAN technologies, storage systems, and data management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Professional certifications in storage technologies and related areas (e.g., VMWare VCP, Cisco CCNP) are highly desirable.
