Linux Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to manage and maintain Linux operating systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain RedHat 6/7/8, CentOS, and Solaris/AIX systems.
  • Perform general Unix/Linux administration tasks such as building and configuring VMs, software package installation, account maintenance, file permissions, system tuning.
  • Develop shell scripts for automation and implement LVM, TCP/UDP, SNMP, DNS, NFS, ssh, sudo, and syslog configurations.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, manage system services, and perform system hardening.
  • Release management and patching, including break/fix and incident response.
  • Implement solid understanding of TCP/IP networking in the OSI model in LAN/WAN environments.
  • Utilize VMware environments and other cloud administration (AWS, Azure, Google) experience is a plus.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated with good time management, communication, and presentation skills across varying organization levels.
  • Excellent customer-facing experience when handling incident response.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education or training.
  • Degree resulting in an associate or bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications.
  • Familiar with ITIL and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with enterprise systems for monitoring.
  • Any relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
