About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Risk Portfolio Manager to join our Fintech Risk team at Toast. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving risk-informed growth for our rapidly expanding Fintech line of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve the portfolio risk management strategy to ensure alignment with company appetite.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive and timely reporting framework to provide risk visibility to management.
  • Identify emerging risks and propose data-driven mitigation solutions to minimize potential losses and optimize returns.
  • Oversee the monthly CECL calculations and reporting process, collaborating closely with accounting and strategic finance teams.
  • Lead a team of high-performing credit risk analysts, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and excellence within the broader Fintech Risk team in India, providing leadership presence and guidance.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in consumer or small business lending in a quantitative risk strategy role, preferably in Fintech.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing a team.
  • Quantitative degree (Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/Operations Research) preferred, Masters Degree or MBA a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python/R, with experience in data visualization tools such as Hex/Tableau/Looker/Sigma.
  • Strong understanding of Corporate Finance and US GAAP Accounting principles, including CECL.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
