Software Packaging Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to develop expertise in application packaging, ensuring seamless compatibility with diverse operating systems. As a Software Packaging Specialist, you will be responsible for streamlining customer application requirements as a central point of contact.
Key Responsibilities:- Migrate applications from legacy platforms such as Windows 7/8 and ensure they are compatible with the latest operating systems.
- Utilize advanced tools like Admin Studio and Install Shield to create, test, and deploy packaged applications.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of scripting languages including VB/WMI, batch scripting, PowerShell scripting, and PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit.
- Apply proven expertise in application testing and remediation techniques to produce Windows-compatible applications using tools like ACT 5.6.
- Work on virtual builds using VMware Workstation and Oracle Virtual Box.
- Repackage applications utilizing various packaging tools such as Wise or Admin Studio.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of Windows Installer Technologies, including MSI Packaging, Tables, Custom Actions, and Standard Actions.
- Develop expertise in Application Virtualization Technologies, specifically App-V 4.6 and 5.0.
- Troubleshoot complex issues using tools like FileMon, RegMon, and PictureTaker.
