Job Title: Special Educator

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Special Educator to work one-on-one with a child. The focus of this role will be on developing functional academics, communication skills, and supporting daily living activities (ADLs). This is a freelance contract-based role with flexible scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement personalized special education sessions in the child's home environment
  • Focus on building functional communication, basic literacy, and language through structured activities
  • Support the child's independence in ADLs such as dressing eating and basic routines
  • Conduct informal assessments to set measurable goals and track progress
  • Design engaging age-appropriate learning tools and methods
  • Maintain clear session records and update the team regularly
  • Collaborate with parents and other therapists to ensure holistic support
Requirements:
  • Diploma Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education RCI-registered preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies and life skills training
  • Ability to work independently in a home-based setting
  • Respectful non-judgmental and family-focused approach
