Job Opportunity: US Mortgage Pre-Closing Specialist

Our team is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of US Mortgage Pre-Closing Specialist. In this position, you will play a critical part in reviewing loan packages and preparing essential documents for mortgage closings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing loan data, identifying potential issues, and ensuring that all necessary documents are prepared accurately and efficiently. Additionally, they will work closely with the settlement agent to request fees and perform fee analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze loan packages to identify any discrepancies or issues
  • Prepare Preliminary Closing Disclosures (CDs) and subsequent closing documents
  • Issue initial and re-disclosures to clients as required
  • Verify flood insurance certifications, title commitments, ownership of deeds, loan approvals, tax certifications, and preliminary closing disclosures
  • Monitor individual closing pipelines, workload, and volume levels to optimize efficiency and balance
  • Review Power of Attorney documents and verify cash to close amounts
  • Create closing documents and track required waiting periods
  • Request preclosing audits prior to closing
  • Deliver final closing documents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a related field and 18 months of experience in preparing Initial and Final closing documents are preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage concepts, practices, procedures, and Fannie Freddie guidelines is essential
  • Proficiency in Loan Origination Systems (LOS) and Microsoft Office tools is required
