About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to establish and lead our cloud environment on AWS. You will design, implement, and optimize our cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and resolves AWS service issues across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Manages AWS services, working with internal groups as required to ensure system availability meets project requirements.
  • Designs, builds, and deploys cloud solutions using various cloud services and platforms (AWS).
  • Provides guidance and technical expertise on cloud adoption, migration, and optimization.
  • Develops scripts to automate systems administration and monitoring activities.
  • Provides technical support on AWS-related issues, monitors solutions, and implements strategies to eliminate performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborates with Infrastructure and Product teams on AWS design and architecture, assists with Proof-of-Concept development, and testing.
  • Works with peers within and beyond Operations to define and characterize complex technology or process problems, develops, and implements new solutions.
  • Assists with the development of Operations white papers, proposals, and other documentation as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, AWS SysOps Administrator Certification, Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent AWS Cloud Engineering/Architecture experience.

Required Skills

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, AWS SysOps Administrator Certification, Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or equivalent AWS Cloud Engineering/Architecture experience.
  • 3+ years of AWS administration experience, including API Gateway, S3, ECS, EKS, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, WAF, and CloudTrail.
  • 3+ years deploying Infrastructure as Code using tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing AWS solutions.
  • Experience in cloud architecture patterns, design principles, and best practices.
  • Intermediate networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls, etc.).
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in driving technical problems to resolution.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause-analysis skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux server technologies.
  • Experience working with third-party service providers, vendors, and internal support groups.
  • Ability to plan and implement change for enterprise systems and adhere to standard change management processes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in outsourced/managed services environments with client-facing responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with WebLogic or equivalent application server platforms.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian (Gerrit, Confluence, Artifactory, Jenkins) and other DevOps tools.
  • Strong understanding of Local and Wide area networking technologies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to less technical staff.
  • Strong understanding of broader technology context (e.g., network and database technologies).
  • Ability to mentor other team members in areas of technical expertise.
