Merchant Acquiring Risk Prevention Specialist

Role Overview:

The Merchant Acquiring Risk Prevention Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of merchant transactions by detecting and preventing potential fraud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of transactions processed at acquired merchants across various channels, including UPI, POS, and PG.
  • Identify and investigate suspicious merchant behavior to prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Verify documents received from merchants in response to escalations or observed fraud patterns.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding identified frauds and trends to inform risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop monitoring rules based on observed patterns and emerging trends.
  • Stay updated on industry fraud trends and methodologies to enhance prevention capabilities.
  • Ensure seamless data exchange between teams for effective reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports to stakeholders highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Promote discussions with stakeholders on new requirements and enhanced surveillance measures to optimize risk management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in fraud monitoring and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, payment aggregator business models, and UPI fraud dynamics.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including filters, pivot tables, charts, and lookup functions.
  • SQL coding skills are an asset.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Statistics, or Econometrics is preferred.
